Martin Leighton...Artist
Born in Montrose Scotland in 1951, Martin Leighton has lived in Weymouth in the beautiful county of Dorset for the past 48 years.
In 2003 Martin Leighton opened his own gallery close to Weymouth harbour side with a working studio. The gallery is situated on the first floor of a beautifully converted Grade II listed building.
Self-taught artist Martin Leighton specialises in oils on canvas and has been painting for over 30 years. "It all started as a hobby" says Martin but his work has progressed to a professional level with several paintings now being published as limited edition prints.
Martin Leighton's work is in collections not only in the UK, but also in Australia, USA and South Africa.
