John Luce Lockett...Artist
John studied at The Northampton School of Art and The Byam Shaw Kensington, following this with extensive study in life drawing and human anatomy. Although he has worked in a variety of media, including watercolour, etching and sculpture, he has always considered himself to be an oil painter.
John's primary interest is painting people in situations, whether it be a beautiful woman or old men in a bar, and although John does take the occasional commission( and once exhibited with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters), he prefers to choose his own models ,locations and compositions and weave his own narrative both real and imagined around the characters in his pictures.
