Jenny Devereux...Artist
Jenny Devereux was born in 1945. Jenny has no formal art training and is a self taught painter and printmaker. Jenny Devereux now runs a busy printmaking studio in the south west of England. Jenny's favoured subjects are predominantly still life and floral imagery.
Jenny Devereux often uses fresh flowers from her farmhouse garden placing them in patterned vases and pots. Jenny then works from her composition creating etchings directly onto copper plates. The fine delicate Japanese paper; which Jenny Devereux always uses for her prints is put through the printing press to form the initial printed image. Jenny then hand colours each print ensuring that each one is unique. Jenny Devereux is known as one of the finest floral printmakers.
Jenny Devereux's unique etching style, developed over the years along with her love of gardening and plants, and her sensitive, creative approach to the forms and materials found in the natural world combine to form images of a striking yet subtle nature.
With an international reputation Jenny Devereux's work is collected throughout Europe, The United States and the Far East. Hand printed, in limited editions of 250, each etching is also finished with a variety of gold leaf, gesso, pastel and watercolour to create a truly individual work of art.
