Born 1946 in Birmingham. James Preston studied History of Art and Life Drawing at Derby Art Collage, UK.

James Preston has taken part in many prestigious exhibitions including; The Duffield Art Gallery, Granby Gallery, Bakewell, Harrods, London, Mayfield Gallery, Bournemouth, Halford House, Castle Howard, York, Wentworth Gallery, Florida, Wold Gallery, Cotswolds and Seki Art salon in Japan.

James has had work published by a number of well known publishers including; Solomon and Whitehead and Demontfort Fine Art.

James Preston was nominated Artist of the Year 1994 by the Fine Art Trade and has had several high profile commissions in which he was asked to reproduce the work of Van Gogh.
