With a style all of her own Elaine has established herself as a leading contemporary floral artist. She says "Being self-taught I felt able to experiment with different mediums such as acrylics and oils and also texture". Eventually her style became looser and she began painting floral images of poppies and sunflowers, then branching into the more exotic varieties.
Elaine says her flowers are never mainstream, she likes her subjects to have personality. "I love the modern trend towards minimalism, mixing hot Mediterranean colours with cool neutrals".
