Barry Patterson...Artist

Since leaving De Montfort University in 1986 with an honours degree in illustration Barry has spent his professional life painting. Initially working in the field of commercial illustration he has more recently developed his career as a fine artist, having now held many successful joint and solo exhibitions.

Barry's main interest is in the human form and it is to this that he has lately turned his full attention. The images he produces are rich and vibrant and though a large degree of realism is always present his concern is in reflecting a sense of mood and atmosphere and exploring the subtle shifts between abstraction and representation
